The Garden Rout boasts a pleasant climate, with moderately hot summers, and mild to chilly winters. It has of the largest all-year-round rainfall rates in South Africa, most of which falls in the winter months. The Garden Route is nestled between the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountain ranges and the expanse of the Indian Ocean. The Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma indigenous forests are a unique mixture of Cape Fynbos and temperate forest and offer hiking trails and eco-tourism activities whilst also playing host to nearly 300 species of birdlife in variety of habitats.
