City Bowl Recensies
I was born in Cape Town and lived in the Peninsula and the northern suburbs for 35 years but never really knew Oranjezicht and the surrounding area. To have lived in Oranjezicht for a couple of days, so close to Table Mountain, and to experience just part of the Platteklip Gorge Hike, was a great adventure for a 79 year young man! The Farmers' market on Saturday morning was another lovely outing.

As a child we use to visit Cape Town very often. This visit reminded me again of those years. Everything seems to be within reach, shopping hours very comfortable for late workers and holidaymakers. I felt like a tourist who was visiting for the first time, everything seems different on foot rather than just driving by. Signboards are clearly marked, all info needed was available all over the city and people are helpful. This is what I call a friendly city. :)

Cape Town is simply beautiful! I hear people call it little Italy, I rate it doesn't compare because it is so uniquely Cape Town, a place for fun and excitement yet uber relaxed with so many friendly people.

Gardens is an awesome area with so much life and interesting things to do and see. However, traffic can be a nightmare with the narrow roads and erratic drivers.

The CBD is very trendy, especially Long Street. The atmosphere is cosmopolitan and people watching is a delightful pass time to be enjoyed at all hours.
There is a plethora of restaurants and hotels ranging from quirky to comfortable to high class elegance and at night the city buzzes with energy.
Although I was pretty observant and aware, I did not feel threatened walking up and down the streets. I would however, caution people to be aware of pick pockets and petty crime.
The Cape Towm CBD compares very favorably to any of the major cities throughout the world. I would highly recommend a visit.
