Barkly East
The area around Barkly East is amongst the most beautiful in SA. The Barkly pass to Elliot is a must - with sloping green pastures in the foreground and magnificent mountains in the background, through which you drive to the peak and then descend. Rock formations also stunning. In Barkly there are a few establishments to eat and have coffee - try FKs and Dorp Lappies.

Rhodes
Rhodes is a very pleasant town with friendly people in a magnificent surrounding. Fly fishing is possible in several rivers and the catch is good. Birding is nice, but a 4 wheel drive is recommended. Our stay up there in the mountains will always remain a pleasant memory.

A must visit /stayover for anyone keen on out of the way places. I can assure you the gravel road was good-fantastic views!
