Uvongo is a real family holiday destination, will certainly go back again

The beach is fantastic ! Ideal for couples with children, the beach is well sheltered and the actual swimming area is huge with a calm swimming area for little children. There is ample place to set up "camp" and is very clean. The shop has basically everything needed from sunscreen to rentals of "boogieboards" . Uvongo is close to St Michaels which has a cute entertainment "park" for kids in the lagoon. It is also close to Shelly Beach shopping centre if you need to catch a movie, dine out or do some shopping. Margate Beach and town is also a short drive away. All in all a central, nice place to stay.

Lovely, vibey location; close to St Michaels and Margate. Uvongo beach is a little small, following on the adverse weather conditions a couple of years ago, with limited 'beach walking' activity, but the lagoon almost makes up for the lack of long stretches of sand. Our 14-year old son and his friend, who accompanied us, fell in love with Uvongo and the South Coast and are already planning their Matric holiday to the area!

Uvongo beach itself is a breath taking section. The sand there is so soft. The town is close to everything. Its centrally located and has enough commercial offering with the fantastic beach that you don't really need to leave. For dining, you might want to travel around and take in what the area has to offer.
