If you are travelling in the Cape, Franschhoek should be on your list of places to visit. Dramatic scenery, immense history and culture ... just be prepared for four seasons in one day!

A must for all wine lovers. Do the wine tram, you can cover more ground and wine farms without driving yourself.

Living in Cape Town we are spoilt for choice as far as wonderful day trips and destinations are concerned. Franschoek has it all, fantastic restaurants, galleries and boutiques and all the outdoor activities one could wish for. We didn't manage to even touch the surface of what this area has to offer, but with affordable accomodation like Otters Bend, we will make more time, more often.

Franschhoek is timeless. If you are looking for a beautiful place to relax, soak up wine farms and dine all day then Franschhoek is the perfect place to go. With many restaurants to choose from or even picnic spots, Franschhoek provides the perfect setting for a day trip from Cape Town or even a luxury stay for travelers abroad wanting to experience the finer things in life in a small town. Thee are many curios on sale but also every day shops to make it a friendly stay for casual tourists. I love coming back and spent many days there on my honeymoon, as have many of my friends. Do yourself a favor, have a look. You might as well eat like royalty while you're there.
