Directions
By Road:

Follow the N1 North from Johannesburg/Pretoria to Polekwane and exit at the Kranskop Toll Plaza towards Modimolle (Nylstroom) on the R33.

Follow the R33 through Modimolle to Vaalwater ±60 km.

Follow the R33 through Vaalwater.

At the Total Fuel Station (left hand side), the R33 continues to the right. Take care not to miss this turn.

Continue on the R33 for ± 30km.

Turn right onto the Visgat Road (dirt road).

Continue for ±12km to the T-junction.

Turn left and follow the road (don’t turn off anywhere).

Continue for ±10km : the road makes a natural bend to the right.

Bushman’s Hide Entrance is the second gate on the right (between the first and second chevron).

The entrance to Bushman’s Hide is a large green gate on your right hand side and is clearly marked with a large wooden sign. Please ensure that you secure the gate after passing through. Follow the entrance road, past the Butchery, to the thatched entrance.

Bushman’s Hide is truly a Bush Escape and while all of our access roads are two wheel drive friendly, the gravel roads can be bumpy, so we suggest you allow extra time for the last portion of your journey.

By Air:

The Bushman's Hide Airstrip is a 1.2 km packed gravel strip on a ridge across the valley from the lodge. Private Charters are welcome to land but pilots must sign an indemnity form before landing.

The concrete runway pad is located at 23°54'18.90"S 28° 5'39.95"E.

There is a large orange windsock located midfield.

Please make a low pass prior to landing to ensure that the there is no game on the field.
