The Waterberg is a great fortress of mountains surrounding a high plateau, covering an area of 15 000 square kilometres. The escarpment consists of massive sandstone buttresses through which sundry passes allow access to the inner or Palala plateau. Unlike other mountain ranges, the Waterberg was not pushed up by continental drift or volcanic activity, but it is instead a structural remnant left standing in solitary splendour as the rest of that part of Africa eroded away in the comparatively recent geological times.

Nestled deep in the Waterberg Mountain range of the Limpopo Province in the Republic of South Africa and a mere two and a half hours drive from Johannesburg International Airport, is Jobedi Game Reserve. With our Game Reserve at your disposal, you can appreciate nature and be assured of a great holiday, packed with new experiences, adventure and new friendships.

Jobedi Game Reserve is self-contained and completely fenced in one 56 km circumference. There are about 280 different tree, shrub and grass species, as well as moss and ferns. More than 260 species of birds have been identified, ranging from fish eagles to water birds.

Leopards

Jobedi used to do intensive Leopard research and collared as many leopards as possible, but we have not done so for a few years now.
The Reserve is partly mountainous, with gorges, waterfalls and hanging cliffs, offering the best spectacular vista in Africa. Open savanna plains and bush that vary from pristine to ravine together with impassable wild areas create a haven for more than 28 species of game, including giraffe, nyala, bushbuck, eland, zebra, blue wildebeest and the mysterious leopard.

Directions
Take the N1 north to Polokwane at Kranskop tollgate turn left towards Modimolle (Nylstroom). Drive through Nylstroom towards Vaalwater, at the 4way stop in Vaalwater turn right going towards Melkrivier. Approx. 32km on the Melkrivier road you get the Dorset & Sondagsloop roads, turn left and immediately turn right and we are 6km on the gravel road.
