140 hectares of coastal thicket and Fynbos with 900m of rocky coastline on the South Coast of the Western Cape. A wide variety of veld flowers belonging to the Cape floral kingdom can be found. Many medium sized mammals are present in and among the fynbos. The local bird population allows fascinating bird watching. Accommodation is provided in two self catering chalets, as well as bed and breakfast facilities in the main guest house.
The chalets are situated on the waters edge in exclusive and private surroundings and the guest house is in the centre of the reserve. The larger chalet comprises of three double bedrooms with main en-suite and a second bathroom for the other two. The second chalet has two double bedrooms, sharing a bathroom. These provide an excellent starting point for exploratory walks in the inter tidal zone.
Jongensgat is situated on the South African whale watching route and whales can be spotted from your deck chair on the stoep of the self catering cottages. Whale spotting season is every year from July to November.
This guest house is situated in the centre of the reserve where one wakes up to the song of birds like the Bokmakierie. The house serves as a base for excellent bird watching. Bed and full English breakfast is provided and can be enjoyed in this Provence styled dwelling. Guests are accommodated in two luxury bedrooms, both en-suite with private entrances from the courtyard where braai facilities are available. An evening meal of South African cuisine can be served by arrangement.
