Kosi Forest Lodge | Game Lodges & Resorts Kosi Bay

Tucked into the tranquil sand forest alongside the Kosi lake system, this is the only private lodge in the Kosi Bay Nature Reserve – an unspoilt wilderness that is part of the Isimangaliso World Heritage Park. The 16-bed lodge offers comfortable accommodation, fine cuisine and caters for a host of estuarine, beach and wilderness activities.

Each bush suite is hidden within the forest. Romantic en-suite bathrooms set in white, sandy beach under Umdoni trees are open-air, giving guests a truly unique experience. Guests can relax at the pool with its sweeping views of Lake Shengeza.

Explore this unique ecosystem by canoe or take a day trip by boat through the lakes, stopping for a swim and a picnic lunch at a nearby beach. There are also day visits to Tembe Elephant Park. From November to February marvel as Giant Loggerhead and Leatherback turtles struggle up the beach to lay their eggs, returning year after year to the same place. Children are more than welcome at Kosi Forest Lodge and babysitting is offered as a service at the lodge. There is a swimming pool that overlooks a lake that is next to the lodge. The nearest hospital is at Manguzi which is 9km away. There is no electricity at the lodge, the lodge's services are run off generator. As Kosi Forest Lodge is situated in a malaria area, it is advisable to consult your doctor for advice. It is advisable to bring sun block, mosquito repellent, a wind breaker, light walking shoes and a torch. We do supply basic snorkelling gear, however if you are an enthusiast, we do recommend bringing your own as we are not able to guarantee availability.

Directions
From Durban:
Take the N2 North out of Durban bypassing Richards Bay, Empangeni and Mtubatuba and head towards the town of Hluhluwe. Take the exit for the town of Hluhluwe, proceed through the town for 4,5km. Turn left at the circle taking the Sodwana Bay turn off. Drive approximately 1,3km and turn right, you should cross over some railway tracks. Drive straight for 125km and turn right at the circle Kosi Bay / Kwangwanase sign. Carry on for 22km and look out for the Police Station and Kosi Forest Lodge sign on your right hand side. Guests in two-wheel drive vehicles needing a transfer to the lodge must go to the Total Garage in KwaNgwanse to meet a Kosi staff member for a 25minute transfer into the lodge. Please pre-arrange this transfer to the lodge at either 12:00 or 16:00 when confirming your booking.
