Montagu Vines | Bed and Breakfast Montagu

Montagu Vines is situated in the historic conservation area of Montagu. The main farmhouse was built between 1900 and 1910 and reflects the early Victorian-influenced Karoo-styled farmhouses of that period.

The garden rooms overlook the new olive grove and complement the stately main house. We offer our guests a taste of old-fashioned comfort and luxury in the town of Montagu on the world famous “Route 62”.

You can relax in the splash pool set in the tranquil gardens with magnificent old oak and milkwood trees. Alternatively, you could lounge on the lawns with glorious views of the olive grove and surrounding mountains, sipping a glass of Chenin Blanc.

Montagu Vines offers 5 tastefully decorated garden rooms. These rooms have fireplaces for chilly winter evenings and all rooms have their own entrances with a veranda that overlooks the garden and olive grove, with the spectacular mountains as a backdrop.

All rooms at Montagu Vines are en-suite and have satellite television, free-standing fans, heated towel rails, hair dryers, a welcome tray with tea and coffee, and a complimentary carafe of "Beverley Dawn" Chenin Blanc.

In October 2012, 3 new luxurious en-suite garden rooms, with air conditioning, will become available - 2 queen and 1 twin, each with front and rear entrances and all other amenties as in Rooms 1-5.

In the morning a full breakfast is served in the main farmhouse. This is a feast of fresh fruit in season, yoghurt, muesli and cereals and fresh fruit juice followed by your choice of eggs, bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms or cold meats and cheeses.

You may be lucky and see the "resident" owls perched in the old oak tree or meet one of the big tortoises in the olive grove that visit from the adjacent nature reserve.
