Motswiri Lodge

Motswiri Lodge is a privately owned farm that is conveniently situated three and a half hours from JHB in the North West Province of South Africa.

The farm is located on 900 hectares of fenced private bushveld. Five protected tree species, abundant bird life, impala, kudu, eland, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, hartebeest, waterbuck, njala, blesbuck, jackal and the odd resident leopard of the area make the land their home. Here, the real sights and sounds of untamed Africa still exist under the dazzling Milky Way.

"Motswiri" is the Tswana name for the rare and protected leadwood tree that can be found on the farm.

Camelthorn Lodge
The original farmhouse has been renovated inside, creating a natural and truly African interior. A lounge, bar, four bedrooms each with comfortable queen size beds and crisp linen ensure a good nights rest after a day in the African sun. For those that cannot leave the television behind, we have DSTV so you will be able to catch up on your sport or favourite programme whilst away.

A covered verandah overlooking the rock swimming pool will keep you cool in the heat of the day and there is a boma to keep you warm at night, alternatively it will be a place to reflect on the day whilst watching the fire dance or to tell the legends and mysteries of Africa.

Camelthorn Lodge has been upgraded using as many raw materials from the area as possible, changing the inside to a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Marula & Matoppie (thatched chalets)
Tucked away in the bush you will find peace and quiet. Two bedroom en suite chalets with kitchenette, braai facilities and own private boma are perfect for those wanting some privacy.
Shade parking for cars is provided next to each chalet and there is a newly built splash pool for exclusive use of guests staying in the chalets.
In keeping with our motto that a true bush experience requires us to leave the city behind, lanterns and gas stoves have been provided instead of electricity, however, all units do have hot water with inside and outside showers and flush toilets.

Krinkhout Bush Camp
Nature lovers simply adore our rustic bush camp for its seclusion, away from it all, close to nature feel. It has been described as 'magic' and 'off the beaten track'.
You can pitch your tent at any of 5 different camping spots, all of which are in the shade.
Ambient lighting is by means of lamps creating an intimate and cosy feel. Cooking is by gas or open fire and there is a communal dining area. An ablution facility with a flush toilet and hot water, can also be found in close proximity.

Children welcome.
All accommodation is self-catering.
