Situated in the Province of Inhambane, in Mozambique, Pomene is a piece of paradise with kilometres of beach sand and crystal clear waters. Whale sharks and Dolphins can often be spotted from the point, while a variety of birds can be spotted in the estuary

Surf, rock and estuary fishing can be done, while the rest of the family enjoys snorkeling in protected pools, relaxing on the beach or enjoying themselves around the freshwater swimming pool.

After a busy day, sit back and relax with a sun downer on the deck, which has a spectacular view of the estuary, or share the day's adventures with the other guests in the bar.

Ice and cold drinks are available from the bar, which situated at the main complex, which also has an entertainment room with satellite TV.

Accommodation consists of detached self catering 5 sleeper chalets. Chalets are equipped with bedding, kitchen utensils, fridge/freezer, hot plate and kettle. Each chalet is allocated its own braai.The chalets are serviced daily except for Sundays. There is running hot and cold, fresh water, with the generator running three times a day

Pomene is situated on the map more or less half way between the main towns of Inhambane and Vilanculos.

Heading north on the EN1, about 10km outside Massinga is a dirt road to the right, posted Pomene. Following the dirt road one will pass through two small villages.

The larger and first village has a sign board posted on a building to point you in the right direction.
The last few kilometres of the road is soft sand and a 4x4 is a necessity.

There is no fuel available at Pomene, the nearest fuel available is usually at Massinga, roughly 50 km away. There is an air compressor at Pomene View lodge to inflate tyres.A grass runway for small aircraft is close to the lodge, contact for more detail.

Directions

·          Take the N4 - past Witbank, Mbombela(Nelspruit) and all the way to the Komatipoort border.
·          Once through the Ressano Garcia border post, follow the main toll road to Maputo
·          As you enter Maputo proceed through the toll gate and shortly after take a left turn
   onto EN1 to Xai-Xai. This is the main coastal road north.
·          Pass Villages of Maracuene (28km), Manhica (75km), Macia (143km) and Chissano
   to the town of Xai-Xai 204km North of Maputo, this is a good place to re-fuel.
·          Continue on the North Coastal Road passing smaller villages and towns,
   including Chidenguele (262km), Quissico (392km) and Inharrime (372km).
·          From Inharrime continue for approximately 45km passing Cumbano which has a large
   radio mast on the left side of the road to LINDELA
·          Keep a look out for a sign board on your left saying LINDELA.
·          continue straight up the EN1 past the Lindela turnoff  and pass through Maxixe
·          Massinga and continue for approximately10km.
·          Turnoff to Pomene is on right side
·          Dirt road and passes through the town of Rio das Pedros, then through the small village of Teveli
·          Pomene View Lodge is 50km from the main road (EN1).
