Seasands Lodge in St. Lucia, South Africa, nestling in a lavish tropical garden with breathtaking views over the wetlands and Estuary mouth of Lake St. Lucia, where it meets the warm Indian Ocean, is hard to beat both as a destination and venue. St. Lucia is known as the gateway to the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park and is therefore ideally positioned as a base for further exploration. St. Lucia is the ideal stop-over on your journey to or from the famous Kruger National Park. Seasands recently opened their new 5 star conference centre, the only dedicated conference centre in The Greater St Lucia Wetland Park.. St. Lucia is officially a no-risk malaria area.

Cape Vidal, one of the best snorkeling and spear fishing venues on the coast, is 32 km north of St Lucia. Access is through a nature reserve containing 4 of the Big 5, Lion being absent for the safety of beach users. The world renowned Hluluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserve is a mere 35 minutes drive away - close enough for a day trip. Details of self-drive tours are available from our reception. Richards Bay is the nearest airport offering scheduled flights (Seasands operates a shuttle service) and the nearby 121 battalion 1.5Km concrete landing strip is available for private flights.

Our Lodges are serviced and consist of a large bedroom cum lounge ala Holiday Inn, full bathroom & shower, fully kitted out kitchenette and verandah with garden furniture. All Lodges have ceiling fans and are air conditioned, with individual balconies. The front facing rooms offer sweeping views over the Wetlands. All accommodation includes satellite TV, and is well equipped and tastefully decorated. All meals are available in our restaurant as an optional extra. The venue caters for conferences. We have 28 Lodges and large bus groups are easily accommodated. Overcrowding is not allowed and occupancy is determined by the amount of beds.

St. Lucia is a 2 1/2 hours drive north of Durban on the N2 toll road.
From Gauteng drive via Ermelo, Piet Retief and Pongola (6 1/2 hours). St. Lucia is ideal for a stopover for visitors driving between Kruger National Park and Kwa-Zulu Natal OR for those starting their journey in Cape Town and driving northwards to the Kruger Park
