Thambo International Airport, Stay-a-While is an ideal base from which to explore the city and surrounds, or as a launch for your South African adventure. We have created an atmosphere that makes our guests feel completely relaxed, whether on business or leisure.

Stay-a-While guest house comprises of ten suites, set in secure gardens with off street parking and a large swimming pool for those sunny Highveld days. Our ten (one single room, seven double rooms and 2 family suites) well-appointed suites all have DSTV, kitchens or kitchenettes, clock radios and en-suite bathrooms with showers and/or baths, with private access and off street parking for all guests.

Directions
DIRECTIONS FROM JOHANNESBURG AIRPORT:
On leaving Johannesburg International Airport , travel in direction of Johannesburg City.
Ignore the first off-ramp (which is sign posted Barbara Road) Exit on the second off-ramp , marked for Edenvale Road. At the traffic lights turn right (over the highway) and proceed straight for about 2,9 km passing through the town centre of Edenvale. This will become Van Riebeeck Avenue, you will pass The Duneden Hotel (opposite the hotel is a replica of a dutch windmill called De Bakery). Proceed down van Riebeeck Ave until you reach MacDonalds hamburgers & then turn left. You will cross all the Avenues in descending order marked, 7th Avenue, 6th Avenue, 5th Avenue etc down to 1st Avenue. Turn right into First Avenue and we are at 113 First Avenue, Edenvale (between De Wet Street and 9th Street). These directions should be followed if you are coming either from Pretoria on the Kempton Park Highway and also if you are coming on the N4 from Witbank/Nelspruit.

DIRECTIONS FROM N3 HIGHWAY (travelling from North to the South on N3 Highway):

If you come from Randburg (N1 North) OR from Pretoria direction towards Johannesburg (on the Ben Schoeman Highway/N1 South),
The N1 will intersect with the MI (M ONE) Motorway to Jhburg City Centre and the N3 South marked Germiston/Heidelburg/Durban.
This intersection is known as the BUCCLEUCH INTERCHANGE - you proceed in southerly direction from the Buccleuch Interchange on the N3.
There are a number of off ramps on the N3 South marked as follows, in sequence, the
1st Intersection -Marlboro Drive - IGNORE
2nd Intersection - London Road - IGNORE
2rd Intersection - Edenvale/Kempton Park/Modderfontein/Longmeadow Business Park - IGNORE
4th Intersection - Johannesburg/Lombardy/Sandringham - IGNORE
5th Intersection - Linksfield Road - TAKE THIS EXIT
At the traffic lights turn left in an easterly direction (towards the airport) and travel for about approx 2,5 km until you pass Edenvale High School.
The very next set of traffic lights are at First Avenue (which has a SASOL Petrol Station on the left).
Turn LEFT at those lights into First Avenue and travel about 1,5km approx to Stay-A-While Guest House which is at 113 First Avenue, Edenvale.

DIRECTIONS FROM N3 HIGHWAY (travelling from South to the North on N3 Highway):
If coming on the N1 from Bloemfontein (on N1) take the N12 TOWARDS Witbank . This N12 route will connect you with the N3-North. If you come from South which is on the N3 from Durban/Alberton/Germiston behind you or the M2 West Highway you will go over the hill in the Primrose Germiston area as you approach Bedfordview from a southerly direction.
The first off ramp you come to will be Van Buuren Road - IGNORE
The next intersection is Gilloolys Interchange which splits for Johannesburg/Eastgate and for Airport - IGNORE all offered splits.
Stay on the N3 north (marked Pretoria) the very next off ramp on the N3 is Linksfield Road - EXIT HERE
When you come to the traffic lights at the end of the off-ramp turn left and proceed over the bridge which crosses the highway.
Travel in the direction of the airport (easterly) and travel for about approx 2,5 km until you pass Edenvale High School.
The very next set of traffic lights are at First Avenue (which has a SASOL Petrol Station on the left).
Turn LEFT at those lights into First Avenue and travel about 1,5km approx to Stay-A-While Guest House which is at 113 First Avenue, Edenvale (Between De Wet and Ninth Streets).
