The Homestead is a 24 roomed Guest Lodge in the Drakensberg,a World Heritage area. It has standard en-suite bedrooms and family units (two bedrooms with one bathroom), as well as air-conditioned deluxe rooms. The Executive suite with it's Four Poster bed, spa bath for two and double shower is also suitable for a Honeymoon couple. A Conference facility with accommodation is also available should people want to break free to somewhere to concentrate, plan, team-build, brain-storm or just build friendships and relax in tranquil surroundings.

A fixed menu, buffet-style family meal, is served in the cosy dining room, special meals being served by prior arrangement. Many a pleasant evening has been spent in the small bar, ’The Tam o’ Shanter ’ with it’s definitely Scottish atmosphere. A large dining room with a seating capacity of +/- 120 has been added, making the venue available for large groups and conferences. The Lapa providing a suitable place to braai whist the children enjoy the pool.

The Honeymoon suite has a four Poster bed, double shower and spa bath for two,where many a romantic evening is spent.

Visitors to ‘The Homestead’ and this area of the Drakensberg can find entertainment for the whole family, having the choice of many places to hike, game view, play golf or participate in many action adventures such as quad biking and horse riding. Geluksburg is centrally placed for excursions to the historic Anglo-Boer War Battlefields of Ladysmith, Spioenkop and Colenso. Spioenkop Nature Reserve, where you will see Rhinos, Giraffe, Zebra, and Wildebeest, the Royal Natal National Park and Amphitheatre, Cathedral Peak and Didima Valley, the Champagne Castle valley, Injisuthi valley and our own Tintwa and Middledale Pass valley with Qwaggashoek Game ranch nearby +/- 16 kms, where you can see Rhinos, Giraffe, Zebra, Hippos, Buffalo, Wilderbeest and much more. All these areas are unique and very beautiful with stunning scenic views and energetic or relaxing mountain walks.

Directions
DIRECTIONS FROM JOHANNESBURG
We are situated in the village of Geluksburg,nr Bergville,at bottom of Middledale Pass. You are not adivised to use GPS Co-ordinates but to follow written directions.
You would travel down the N3 as far as Harrismith.You take the road to Bethlehem R712 at the far side of Harrismith.Travel +/-4 kms, You will see a sign for R74 to Bergville,Olivershoek Pass and Qwaqwa.Turn left here.
WAY OVER OLIVERSHOEK PASS TO BERGVILLE
After turning left to the pass and Bergville.Travel a further +/-9kms then turn left to Olivershoek Pass and Bergville.This is the R74.You will pass Sterkfontein Dam and go down Olivershoek Pass,with its panoramic view of the Drakensberg and Woodstock Dam.Just before Bergville,+/- 50 metres you turn left onto the R616 to Ladysmith.You travel +/- 2 kilometres to the top of the first hill and turn left. You are now going to travel 26 kms.The first 6 kms are tar and the next 20 are gravel.When the road changes to tar again you are in the village of Geluksburg.You take the first left turn,travel +/- 400 metres and the Homestead is a large Elizabethan type building on your right.
DIRECTIONS FROM DURBAN
Travel up the N3 to 6 kms past the Estcourt Ultra City Petrol Stop.You will see a left turning to Bergville and Colenso,(exit 194)take this left turn and go to Bergville.The road is the R74.Travel straight through Winterton to Bergville.50 metres after Bergville you will see a RIGHT TURNING to Ladysmith,the R616.Turn right and travel +/- 2 kms to the top of the first hill then turn left and ZERO YOUR ODOMETER.Here you will see a sign for Geluksburg and The Homestead.You will travel over 6 kms of tar road and then the road becomes gravel for 20 kms.As you come into the village the road becomes tar again and yo turn first left,travel along this road for +/- 200 metres and The Homestead is a large Elizabethan type building on your right.(THIS IS THE BEST WAY)

CANCELLATION POLICY
A charge of R100 per room levied on cancellation,at all times.
25 % of total cost of stay is charged if cancelled 30 to 60 days before arrival date.
50 % of total cost of stay is charged if cancelled 15 to 30 days before arrival date.
100 % of total cost of stay is charged if cancelled 1 to 15 days before arrival date.
