The Lofts Boutique Hotel with amazing luxury loft rooms, luxury lagoon suites and newly added luxury two-bedroom suites on the first and second floors is housed within an old Boatshed.

The Lofts Boutique Hotel enjoys the tranquility of an island, the magnificent views of the surrounding green hills and the power of nature expressed by the changing moods of the lagoon. The unique spotless sophisticated luxury loft rooms, with robust wooden trusses of the 100 yr old Boatshed, all offers it’s guests a far distant view of the lagoon and the green residential mountain hills and our exclusive luxury 2 bedroom suites all presents it’s guests with a view overlooking Thesen Harbour Town, containing some amazing features such as the old Power Station and well-known Sawtooth building on the Island.
In 1870 the Thesen family started a timber and shipping business in Knysna. Right through the 20th century, boat building continued on the island – in what is today the re-adapted Boatshed.

The building’s entire existing timber framework has been retained and all the timber cladding has been re-used. The exceptional refurbishment of The Boatshed adds interest and character to your stay, shopping and pampering experience.

Our luxurious, elegant and contemporary lagoon suite provides guests with an exceptional atmosphere. The decor includes extraordinary design elements and distinctive fabrics. This is exclusive Loft living with sliding doors opening in a safe environment, onto a stunning view of the lagoon where the guest is in close contact with the changing moods of the lagoon which are reflected by the water, wind and nature of the lagoon. When the doors are open cool, fresh ocean air pours in.

It is perfect for a long stays, especially for honeymooners. It is equipped with a large bedroom with an en-suite full bathroom consisting of bath, shower for two, hand basin and a separate toilet. It provides ample hanging and packing space while extra length twin beds can also be made up as a king size bed offering luxury and comfort for the guests.

All the luxury loft rooms, lagoon suites and luxury 2 bedroom suites in The Lofts Boutique Hotel has its own television with select DSTV channels on offer. A coffee station in each room has the facility to make tea and coffee and is equipped with a fully stocked mini bar.

The Lofts is a non smoking area for two important reasons:
1. The Lofts wishes to provide safety and security to our guests - the building is a refurbished historical wood boat building shed and needs to treated with special care
2. The Lofts wishes to offer a healthy, fresh and pleasant environment for all our guests.
It will be greatly appreciated if smokers adhere to the rules and make use of balconies and outside smoking areas and also extinguish the cigarettes in the appropriate trays.
Same day guest laundry service is available for the comfort and relaxation of our guests on a long stay holiday or business trip.
A beautiful, true, honest breakfast is presented at any of three famous restaurants, of which two is situated next to and around the boutique hotel

Drive the N2 to Knysna
At the 1st set of traffic lights turn right into Waterfront Drive.
Carry on straight turn right at the 2nd set of traffic lights, into Long Street, over the bridge and onto THESEN ISLANDS
When you get to the four way stop street turn right and drive straight to the Lagoon water edge. The Lofts reception is the last door on the Left.
The building on your right is The Boatshed and you will see ile de Pain bakery café
Turn right and you will find us on the lagoon waters edge.

From: PORT ELIZABETH to Knysna

Drive the N2 to Knysna.
At the 2nd set of traffic lights turn Left into Waterfront Drive; this is just past the government Hospital (which is on your right).
Carry on straight through to the 1st set of traffic lights; turn Left into Long Street, over the bridge and onto THESEN ISLANDS
When you get to the four way stop street turn right and drive straight to the Lagoon water edge. The Lofts reception is the last door on the Left.
