Tsakane (Happy Place) is situated in the Balule Nature Reserve home to Africa’s ‘Big Five’, namely Lion, Elephant, Black and White Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo. The reserve also boasts a wide variety of fauna and flora, interesting topography and majical vistas. Balule forms part of the nearly 3.5 million hectare Greater Kruger Park Conservancy, one of Africa’s few remaining natural ecologies. Tsakane Safari Camp is unfenced and has been carefully designed to complement the natural surrounding environment. We unashamedly project an ambiance of a yesteryear era when poles, thatch, canvass and rich furnishing was all the fashion. Accommodation is provided in comfortable thatched wooden cabins and thatched luxury safari tents. A central entertainment complex includes a reading lounge, dinning lapa, an open-air conversation circle with central fireplace and the cozy Phivi Bar. A traditional open-air dinner boma is situated on the outskirts of the camp. A splash pool and thatched lounging area is situated in our small maintained garden or as affectionately known ‘oasis’ We believe that catering is an integral part of the safari experience and in order to ensure that this philosophy is realized meals are seldom served at the same venue and depending on environmental conditions may include an adventurous bush barbeque, or a relaxing riverside brunch picnic. Our menu reflects typical wholesome and healthy bush food and most meals are uniquely prepared on an open-fire in conversation with our Guests.
