Our exquisite four-star lodge is situated in the Nama Karoo, one of four very impressive desert landscapes in Namibia. The world renowned Fish River Canyon can be seen from various vantage points on the rim of the canyon. This magnificent view in which the harshness as well as the breathtaking beauty of the desert is simultaneously embodied, will forever form a precious part of any nature lover’s memory. Visitors gain access to Vogelstrausskluft Lodge by passing over a small hill. From there, the vast open space unfolds and bids an unforgettable welcome which stretches across the grassy valley that hosts waterholes where animals drink especially during dusk and dawn.
Vogelstrausskluft offers unique possibilities for exploring not only the canyon but also various wonders of the desert habitat. Resettled species that can be found here are kudu, oryx, springbok, zebra, caracal (“rooikat”) and leopard. Guests are received at the lodge with typical Namibian hospitality. Here they can experience excellent and traditional cuisine offered in the distinctive and remarkable atmosphere a four star lodge amidst the contrasting severeness of the stark landscape.
