Withycombe Lodge | Bed and Breakfast Constantia

Dick and Toni Meerburg welcome visitors to the Manor House of Withycombe Farm, built in 1903 in the Cape Dutch style for Capt. Paye, overlooking 60 acres of prime export fruit growing land. Urban sprawl since the 50's gradually reduced the farm leaving 1 acre surrounding the original house lovingly restored into a bed and breakfast establishment complete with mature trees.

The home offers a large guest lounge with French doors opening onto the salt-water pool patio. Here there is quiet, comfortable seating, and a fireplace. For the businessman the Library offers working space and facilities for fax and E-mail. An informal Bar , also opens onto the pool and outside entertainment area, where visitors can enjoy making a traditional South African "Braai" (BBQ). Further to the facilities around the north facing pool area there is a large thatched gazebo on the northwest side of the house. In total there is 250 square meters of paved outdoor entertainment area. The breakfast room has French doors leading onto a sheltered patio and a cosy fireplace to warm winter mornings. Here a comprehensive English or Continental breakfast is served, comprising of fruit, yoghurt, a selection of cereals and breads with preserves, cheese and cold meat.

The bedrooms have television, tea and coffee facilities, radio alarm, hair dryer, fridge a separate entrance and each room can be separately alarmed.
The Jasmine: Twin/king beds en-suite with bath and separate shower.
The Gazania: Has twin beds, is not en-suite but in the same wing as the Jasmine and is available as a family suite.
The Shamrock: Twin/king beds, en-suite with shower. The studio includes a mini kitchen, sitting area with sleeper couch and a private patio overlooking the pool.
The Protea: Double bed, en-suite with shower. The studio includes a full kitchen with under counter oven, sitting area with sleeper couch.
The Erica: Twin/King beds, en-suite with bath/shower and separate toilet. A mini kitchen completes this facility.

Directions
Withycombe is situated in the Constantia Valley. From the Airport follow the N2, direction Cape Town, (pass the M5 Muizenberg off ramp) at the M3 junction follow the Muizenberg sign, bearing left lane. Then follow the M3 for about 7 kilometres, take the exit marked Constantia Main Road M41. Turn left, under motorway bridge through 2 sets of traffic lights and at the 3rd, bear left onto Spaanschemat Road M42, about 100 meters, traffic light left into Doordrift Road, about 30 meters right into Skilpadvlei Road. The Withycombe gate pillars are on your left, past the cul-de-sac sign.
