Tamboti Bush Lodge is slap bang in the middle of the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve A warm welcome from the hosts Derrick and Pixie Cochran, fabulous bushveld cuisine and lots of wonderful activities await the guest at Tamboti. Just 30 mins. drive north of Pretoria close to Rust de Winter dam, the guest house has 6 suites 2 log cabins and in the bush overlooking 2 dams a luxury safari tent up in the trees. Activities include game drives, romantic picnics, fishing, horse back safaris, bird watching, micro-light safaris, hot air ballooning and many more

The 6 suites at the lodge are stunning, each with their own decor and style. The honeymoon suite is to die for and the luxury safari tent amazing. Two log cabins are situated next to the dams. All the suites have TV and coffee making facilities for the late-nighter / early bird.


A morning at Tamboti Bush Lodge starts with music - the sounds of hundreds of birds welcoming you to the bushveld. And then the day just gets better.

Have an amazing breakfast in the restaurant open to the sounds and sights of the bush. Do not be surprised if a jackal or an impala pops up in front of you. Laze around the pool or go on a game drive.


Tamboti Bush Lodge is in the centre of the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve and currently any of the following animals can be found in the reserve:- lion, elephants, rhino, leopard, giraffe, eland, kudu, gemsbok, wildebeest, zebra impala, blesbuck, red hartebeest, waterbuck, baboons, vervet monkeys, caracal, warthogs, etc etc.



The bar is always open and meals are always available in the a la carte restaurant or experience a romantic picnic in the stillness of the African bushveld and accompanied only by the local wild animals.

Take a game drive with a knowledgeable game guide and get really up close to the local animals. Tamboti Bush Lodge is the home of the famous white Jackals of Tamboti. This is also a bird watchers paradise just take a stroll through the bush at the lodge and see amazing bird life. We have a list of 162 birds already spotted at the lodge. Do some tree spotting, many of the trees are already marked and you can identify over 80 indigenous trees around the lodge and in the veld.


A luxury safari tent with an en-suite bathroom is situated on a deck amongst the Tamboti trees. Enjoy the feel of the bush but live in absolute luxury at the same time.
