Accommodation We offer accommodation in A-framed chalets. Each has been tastefully decorated to make our guests feel at home. Located in the majestic Magaliesberg range, in the North West Province of South Africa, the reserve is a favourite for the hiker, mountaineer and those seeking a back-to-nature holiday. The chalets use gas ie the fridge, stove, geyser & lights. THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY. However, 12v lights have been installed in some of the units to work off a car battery, which is available for use and if used CONSERVATIVELY will last up to 4 nights. Whilst bedding is supplied, towels are not supplied.
Features Please note that Utopia is neither a pleasure/holiday resort nor a lodge, it is a Nature Reserve. You might see snakes, spiders and scorpions as well as smaller mammals. There is a great variety of birds.
If you are looking for accommodation such as a private lodge with aircon and game drives; OR a place to party - then please look elsewhere – we do not offer that at Utopia and we would hate to disappoint you.
However, we specialise in short-term holiday accommodation. We offer fully equipped, affordable chalets. Each one comprising of a kitchenette (stove and fridge),cutlery & crockery; lounge; sleeping for up to 6 people; bathroom and private patio with barbecue and beautiful mountain and river vistas. Quiet and private.
Hiking trails in the 117 hectare resort will take one through ever changing and breathless scenery and full round trip could take up to 3 hours and these are natural surroundings one should obviously watch out for snakes and scorpions.

Directions From Hartebeespoort Dam - head west toward Rustenburg. Pass Mooinooi, Buffelspoort Resort and at the 3 waystop street turn left and follow signs.
