Why not wake up to the distinctive cry of the African Fish Eagle which symbolizes the wild freedom of the African bush? Marloth Park is unique in that the wild animals are allowed to roam freely around the lodge. Hence the opportunity to see Impala, Kudu, Waterbuck, Nyala, Reed Buck, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Warthogs, Duiker, Zebra, Mongooses, baboons and monkeys around the lodge is very good. Also enjoy "BIG 5" game viewing from the various lookout points along the Crocodile River where Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Hyena, Cheetah and Hippo's can be seen. Birding is an absolute must at Marloth Park with a huge variety seen without having to leave the lodge. To date, more than 300 species of bird have been identified in Marloth Park. Marloth Park has a filling station, liquor store, butchery, hardware store, curios shop, bakery and two cafes - The Trading Post & Bush Centre. Most of your essentials can be bought from these two stores i.e. milk, bread, fire wood etc. The Bush Centre also has a very nice pub that offers reasonably priced meals and drinks. They also have a lovely pool area for patrons. |
