Nambiti is a new privately held, malaria free, +/-8 000 hectar game conservancy development (established May 2001) situated in the Elandslaagte area outside Ladysmith, in the heart of the battlefields. This magnificent conservancy, with incredible biodiversity, including savannah, grasslands, thornveld, tall acacia trees and riverine bushveld is only 3 1/4 hours from Johannesburg and 2,5 hours from Durban.
Nambiti currently has over 20 species of game, including elephant, giraffe, leopard, zebra, rhino, and nyala. Nambiti will be stocked with additional species over the next two years, including sable, and cheetah (possibly lion).
The Sundays River flows through Nambiti, where there are two 40 metre waterfalls with magnificent riverine bush, attracting several rare bird species.
Because of the phenomenal diversity of savannah bushveld and riverine bushveld, this conservancy is truly unique with an exceptional carrying capacity. This conservancy is one of the only conservancies in the area with species such as elephant, sable antelope and cheetah.
