Built in 1942 this sprawling gray stone manor house was home to many families over the years and holds a charm matched by none other on the reserve.
Nestled alongside a 110 year old fig tree woodlands lodge is comprised
of five large en-suite double rooms and one family room all beautifully decorated in either a battlefield or big five theme, the lodge has a homely but very special feel about it that takes you back to the colonial days of Natal.

The lodge consists of a large formal lounge with a full size billiard table and fire place, a library with big screen TV, fire place and many books to keep you entertained on those long summer nights. The Spear and Shield is our very own pub, where hours of laughter is shared over a cognac or cigar, its also the place to watch your favorite sporting event on the large plasma screen.

Dinner is either a formal affair in the beautifully decorated dinning room with battlefield portraits, memorabilia and candle lights or if you so wish, under the African stars and around a crackling Boma fire where the sound of lions can often be heard in the distance.

The large open veranda has a seating area and breakfast table from where one can view countless birds as they glide in and out of the beautiful fenced in gardens of the lodge.

For the more active guests our newly resurfaced tennis court is just the thing and what better way to cool down after a game of tennis than to plunge into the sparkling pool and enjoy a cocktail on your lounger.
