Sossusvlei Lodge - Sesriem, Namibia - Gateway To The Namib. Luxurious accommodation right next to the gate to the Namib Naukluft Park and Sesriem Canyon.
This luxurious desert resort was built with adobe bricks typical of Arabian villages and tents similar to those of the Bedouin. The lights are solar-powered and, as the 45 tent cum rooms have en-suite showers instead of baths, you can have a unique swim in the desert by splashing in the clear, cool pool. The rooms and bar have a marvelous desert view. Little has been sacrificed to luxury however. The restaurant has a fine German/ Namibian cuisine with fine South African wines. Reached by road and or air the Sossusvlei Lodge is not only the perfect base for balloon trips and tours to Sossusvlei and the Namib Naukluft Park, but also a wonderful holiday destination on its own

Each of the 45 units consists of an entrance hall, ensuite bathroom, bedroom with 2 adjoining 3/4 beds, airconditioning and a verandah. The decor speaks of the art, culture and traditions of african furnishings with soft finishes of inviting comfort. As the sun steals its last rays strokes of purple from the far mountains .With passing parade of springbok, oryx and cape fox, it is surely one of the most unique sites in all Africa

Directions
Windhoek-Sesriem: There are a number of routes to follow from Windhoek to the Lodge. The most direct route with (usually) the best road surfaces is given here. Others include taking the B1 South to Rehoboth and then on to Solitaire via the C24 and D1261 - a slightly longer route, the only advantage being the asphalt surface of the B1. Another would be following the C26 Walvis Bay road all the way to the C14 and then turning south to Solitaire - again a longer route.

Walvisbay/Swakopmund - Sesriem:

Travel 32 kilometres from Swakopmund to Walvis Bay on the B2.
Leave Walvis Bay on the C14 minor road - at the traffic circle right at the entrance to the town, keep to the left, past the Flamingo Ponds and the Airport.
Travel for 234 kilometres on the C14 to Solitaire.
Turn right at the C19 Sossusvlei intersection (T-junction). There is a garage, shop and toilet facilities on the right-hand side of the road here. It is recommended that you fill your vehicle up with petrol at this point.
Continue on the C19 from Solitaire (turn out right from the garage road) for a further 71,3 kilometres.
At the D826 Sossusvlei Lodge/Sesriem intersection (T-junction), turn right and travel for 12 kilometres. The gate to Sossusvlei Lodge is on the right-hand side of the road

Luderitz - Sesriem:

Leave Lüderitz on the B4 that goes to Keetmanshoop.
Travel for 125 kilometres to the intersection (T-junction) at Aus. Turn left onto the C13 - the gravel surface begins here.
Travel for 107 kilometres to Helmeringhausen. It is recommended that you refuel here.
Backtrack for 4 kilometres and turn right onto the C27.
Travel past Sinclair Guest Farm to the T-junction at Betta Rest Camp and turn left, continuing on the C27.
Continue on past Wereldsend (they often have fuel available too at their own filling station) and Mountain Lodge to the D826 Sossusvlei Lodge/Sesriem T-junction.
Turn right onto the D826 and travel for ±500 metres. The gate to Sossusvlei Lodge is on the left-hand side of the road.
