High on a mountainside, overlooking the town of Fish Hoek, Tranquility affords breathtaking views of False Bay. Near the Table Mountain National Park, this is the perfect spot from which to savour spectacular sunrises and all the natural beauty the Cape coast has to offer. Whether it’s a walk down to the beach, whale watching from your private balcony, snoozing by the fireside, or relaxing in the Jacuzzi under the stars, Tranquility has it all. Oh, we forgot to mention superb breakfasts, fresh flowers, fine linen and WiFi Broadband.

Tranquility Guest House is inundated with people who love a delightful place to holiday in and a place where refreshment and restoration are not hard to find, including warm South African hospitality. Open the mountain door and take a walk in the Table Mountain National Park to Elsie’s Peak; or within a few minutes walk to Cape Town’s famous Fish Hoek beach; the renowned fresh fish shop in the seaside village or the whale-watching promenade, Jagers Walk.

The guest house is 10 min by car from the internationally renowned Chapman’s Peak Drive, the perfect vantage point to watch the sunset or dolphins swim by and ideal to reach Hout Bay for a boat trip to Seal Island. Kalk Bay, with its famous fishing Harbour; its own version of Petticoat Lane: junk shop after junk shop filled with bric-a-brac and “antiques” and of course its famous cafés and restaurants – not to mention ‘Olympia Café and Deli’ and their renowned bakery. Historical Simon’s Town, its naval base and famous dog - St. Just Nuisance; and Boulder’s Beach and swimming with the penguins are a 12 min car ride away and a 20 min ride by car will have you at the most south westerly point of Africa at Cape Point, a natural World Heritage Site, where the cold Benguela current on the West coast and the warm Agulhus current on the East coast merge.

The guest house is 45 min away from Cape Town International Airport and centrally disposed to all of Cape Town’s tourist attractions, the perfect guest house for one day tours to Cape Town city-centre, the V&A Waterfront, and Table Mountain; Hermanus; the Cape Winelands and the West Coast National Park to see the flowers. Should you be a golfing enthusiast, your wife shall have the privilege of waking up and looking out her window to catch you, in time, teeing off of your first hole – with binoculars, of course – at the famous Clovelly Country Club just across the valley.

WHAT IS TRANQUILITY?

A luxurious and exclusive guest house where food is our passion, the tranquility addictive and the attention to detail our gift.

Where you leave the bustle of the valley below and you rest beneath the crag of a mountain; you lie in bed watching the sunrise and you hear the Cape francolins announcing the start of a new day; you linger by the fireside eating a delicious home-cooked breakfast and you soak up the sun on your private deck whilst reading your favourite book; you take Rosie, our border collie, for a walk to the beach or up Elsie’s Peak and you become one with nature and smell the fresh flowers; you watch whales frolic in the bay and you gaze in awe at the breathtaking views of the valley, mountains and sea; you lie in the Jacuzzi on the mountain deck beneath the stars and you relax in a candle-lit bath spellbound by the moonlight; you feel the warmth of hospitality and you enjoy the pleasures of Tranquility. It is the most peaceful state of mind.

So why not come and stay at a guest house which has something for everyone and plenty of soul too. May Tranquility touch your soul!
