The Retreat is isolated from the humdrum of life, offering escapism, yet it is a stones throw away from major attractions of the Peninsula, superb restaurants & numerous beaches. Minutes from Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the Constantia Wine route and the delightful Hout Bay Harbour & Village.

Our Guest House B&B rooms are spacious and finely furnished with attention to detail & comfort. Three upstairs double rooms with en suite bathrooms are furnished in pale wood & tranquil colours.

Adjoining each room are specially designed private opening balconies with comfortable recliners for enjoying the magnificent mountain and forest views or just basking in the oasis of peace & tranquillity.
Downstairs family room consists of 2 adjoining double rooms, stable doors open onto a paved area & from here it is a short walk to the pool or onto the mountain side. We boast a relaxing, warm & inviting lounge & courtesy bar. Scrumptious breakfasts are full & hearty. Starting with a colourful & delicious fruit platter.

Surrounded by an oasis of greenery a short walk from the Guest House is our self catering accommodation. The ground floor unit opens onto lush green lawn, with a sensation of space created by the not too distant "ring of mountains".

Our upstairs units sport unimpaired mountain & forest views. Tasteful kitchens, neat clean cut bathrooms containing showers, offer magnificent forest & mountain vistas. There are numerous paths for walking or jogging and for the more adventurous the mountain beckons, with its varied indigenous flora. Relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the forest from our Koi pond or bathe in the shadows of the surrounding mountains.

Directions to Sunbird Mountain Retreat from Constantia Neck

Please look out for cream on brown Sunbird Mountain Retreat signage to indicate directions.

Approximately 2.4 km from Constantia Neck, turn right at Disa River Road
and cross a single lane traffic bridge. At the T-junction turn right into Valley Road. At the first stop street turn left into Longkloof Road and then again left
at the T-junction, into Foresthill Street. The first road to the right a short distance later is Boskykloof Road. It is a good dirt road for approximately
70 m then tarred for a further 100m on the steeper incline. At the top of the tarred section, take a sharp right into Sunbird Mountain Retreat's driveway. This is just before the last entrance on this road.
