In the heart of the Old Malay Quarter, exclusive De Waterkant Place Guest house is ideally situated, with picture perfect views of Cape Towns Table Mountain, Table Bay and the V&A Waterfront. Nestled in one of the oldest, most vibrant, sought-after areas of Cape Town, this up-market residence, with its distinctive and original Bo-Kaap architecture lies in the unique, tree-lined, narrow cobbled streets only 20 minutes from the airport.
Private access is gained from well-known Loader and Dixon streets with ample street parking. De Waterkant Village is considered a safe area. It is patrolled both by mobile security staff and those on foot, all this on a 24-hour basis.
De Waterkant Place Guest House is conveniently situated within walking distance to the popular V & A Waterfront, Aquarium and Cape Town City centre.
Cape Town’s most popular sun-drenched beaches and beach bars are a mere 20 minutes drive away. Trendy restaurants, coffee shops, bistros and delis can be found in the immediate vicinity catering for even the most discerning traveler’s tastes, the exceptional area is also graced by chic boutiques and exclusive décor establishments.

Tourist information on places to visit in and around Cape Town is readily available at the Guest House. Stop in at our reception for maps, details and advice on where to go and on how to travel in and around the city. With prior arrangement, we will happily assist you in booking a rental car or airport pick up before you arrive. We accept payments by local bank transfer; cash in South African Rand, or Visa, MasterCard Credit, and AMEX cards.

We serve a continental breakfast at the main house. Served between 7:30 – 10:00 weekdays & 8:30 – 10:30 weekends and public holidays

Businessmen and early risers will be pleased to know that at De Waterkant Place Guest House breakfast is served between 7:30 and 8:30 depending on the season. Vegetarians will be accommodated with pleasure so please advise us of your preference prior to your arrival at the guesthouse.

Winter or summer, De Waterkant Place Guest House remains comfortable and inviting. During Cape Town's hot summer months, large colonial sash windows and ceiling fans keep the breeze circulating through the Guest House rooms and common areas. In the more cosy Cape Town winters, De Waterkant Place Guest House offers snug accommodation with heating. The thick white towels and 100% cotton bedding are of the highest quality and add an element of seductive comfort to your stay.

On the top floor of the Guest House you might choose to unwind on a soft leather couches with a book, or take in the fresh air on one of the balconies. This is the perfect spot to relax any time of the day. You could share sundowners while you bask in Cape Towns' friendly South African sunshine or watch night fall on the city.

Our check in time is 2pm and check out is at 11am. These times may be flexible if pre-arranged and are subject to the availability of the rooms.

Directions
Directions from Cape Town International Airport:
1. Having left airport terminal buildings follow signs to N2 highway towards Cape Town.
2. At the De Waal Interchange, keep on the right-hand side of the N2 and follow signs saying Waterfront up steep hill past Groote Schuur Hospital.
3. Proceed along N2 (now named Eastern Boulevard) into city, following the Waterfront signs. You will see a view of the harbour as you come over the rise.
4. Just before entering the city, take the Strand Street exit on your left hand side. Proceed past Castle of Good Hope on your left-hand side up Strand Street.
5. Cross over Buitengracht Street and into upper Strand Street with palm trees in centre of road.
6. Fourth street on your right-hand side from Buitengracht is Loader Street. There is a sign saying De Waterkant.
7. Sharp bend into Loader Street.
8. The first road to your right is Dixon Street. We’re on the corner of Loader & Dixon Street, number 35 Dixon Street.
