Experience one of the most impressive panorama views from our Camelthorn bar, the restaurant, the swimming pool and each of our ten spacious twin bed rooms with en suite shower and toilet. (Mount Hohenstein 2.319 m above sea level, Mount Kainachab 1.469 m and to the west in the distance the famous Spitzkoppe).

Eating dinner inside the restaurant or outside on our spacious veranda while game comes to the water is an experience you will never forget. During the day, birds are attracted to the water of our rock pond close by the veranda and bar. Take a sundowner drive to the Damara and Bushmen paintings and enjoy the real nature of Africa.

Take a guided walk with a Damara to the Boulder Forest at the foot of a huge ravine that splits the mountain right to its summit. You will be amazed by the sizes and shapes of the granite boulders. The boulders date from prehistoric times when the mountains and this ravine were formed by volcanic eruptions.

This walk can be extended through the Boulder Forest to show you where small miners are digging gemstones just north of our border in breathtaking landscape. It is one of the most interesting and world wide known areas for gemstones in Namibia.

As long as you are in the area of the lodge it is a very nice walk through the Boulder Forest and just when you are coming to the border you will find yourself standing in front of a very steep area where the small miners are having their sleeping places like the nest of eagles in the rocks. To get from there to the places where they are digging they often have to use ropes. Most of them are literally drilling their holes into the mountain only with hammer and chisel. For those who are interested to see how these small miners are struggling for their living the visit of this site will be a lasting memory.

We are active members of Erongo Mountain Nature Conservancy (EMNC) to protect the wealth of endemic and rare wildlife species and the archaeological sites of the Erongo Mountains.
