It is situated on Mapesu Nature Reserve, a 6000-hectare game farm in the Limpopo Valley, a safe environment for walking, cycling, birding and driving in the bush. Mopane Bush Lodge is adjacent to the Mapungubwe National Park and Mapungubwe World Heritage Site, tracking lions, special Limpopo San rock art, baobabs and the Limpopo river.

From ORTamboIA take the N1 North to Polokwane (Pietersburg). Bypass Polokwane by turning left at the frist traffic circle and follow Nelson Mandela Drive to the seventh lights and turn right. At the next lights turn left onto the R521 to Dendron and Alldays. At Alldays turn right to Pontdrif. After 46km turn right onto R572 to Musina & Mapungubwe. Mopane Bush Lodge is 29km on rhs.
