Before transformation into a beautiful B&B for travellers on a budget, Pension Idube was originally an early 1900's home with large airy rooms, oregon strip floors and pressed steel ceilings. Located 5 minutes easy walk from Melville's ultra-hip 7th Street with its bo-ho cafe culture, Idube offers the perfect place from which to explore vibey Johannesburg.
We offer four room types: 1. Budget rooms : Especially for those independent travellers watching their backpacking budget. 2. Standard rooms : Beautifully decorated with either twin or king beds, and en-suite bathrooms as standard. 3. The Idube luxury suite : Pure opulence with percale linen, antique furniture and stunning decoration. 4. Our two family rooms sleep 3 and 6 respectively, both with en-suite bathrooms
All of our sun-filled rooms have been revamped, offering both the business and leisure traveller comfortable, clean and quirky accommodation. We've got an awesome BBQ area around a sun drenched pool & patio, a fully equipped kitchen for budding Jamie Olivers, a laundry service available if required and a TV lounge for those nights when you would prefer to veg on the comfy couches. Our signature breakfast is included in all our rates. We're also able to offer guests wi-fi at very reasonable rates.
We are in the ideal position for academic visitors to the University of Johannesburg and Wits (University of the Witwatersrand). We are a 5 minute drive from the SABC, Johannesburg CBD and Braamfontein. The shopping meccas of Sandton and Rosebank are an easy 15 minute drive away and Soweto is about 20 minutes away. We can arrange tours, transfers and restaurant bookings - let us know what you need, and we'll do our best to please!
