As you travel into the cool of the forest country, deeper and higher, far into the mountains you will find Cybele Forest Lodge and Health Spa. Set on three hundred acres of African paradise, The Lodge is a charming old farmhouse with a wide verandah where you can sip sundowners whilst looking out over the magnificent gardens. Let the world slip away as you watch the monkeys cavorting in the giant Turpentine Trees. Take in the cool violet of the Jacaranda, the shocking pink of the Tibouchina and the scarlet umbrella of the African Flame Tree.

Wander down to the large secluded swimming pool with its comfortable sun beds. Here you can relax and listen to the creaking of the Bluegum Trees in the forest breeze and breathe in the heady aromas of Frangipani, Gardenia and Buddleia. In striking contrast to the vivid colours and lush greenery of the garden, the interior of The Lodge is warm and inviting. Furnished throughout with antiques, original art and exquisite fabrics, the main house is a most relaxing place to read a book or to browse through one of the many current magazines from all over the world. Daydream on the verandah, or visit the Bar to enjoy a drink or a special cocktail before sampling the Lodge's legendary cuisine.

The food at Cybele is supervised by internationally experienced chefs and could be described as classic French combined with traditional English. Naturally, we use only the best and the freshest of ingredients. No expense is spared in the preparation of our food, which has been acclaimed on numerous occasions by guests and journalists from all over the world, as amongst the best on offer in Southern Africa.

The Lodge offers a full buffet breakfast, including seasonal fresh and poached fruits, home-baked muesli, ham, cheeses, home baked scones, croissants, muffins and preserves, freshly squeezed juices followed by a traditional English breakfast, to order, incorporating, for example, dishes such as Eggs Benedict, kippers, etc.

We offer a relaxed a la carte lunch menu.

A Table d' Hote dinner menu is presented every evening and you may choose to dine between 6:30pm and 9:00pm. Pre-dinner snacks are served from 6:30pm till 8:30pm in the main house. The Dinner menu offers diners a well-selected choice of soups, starters, main courses, side dishes, desserts and cheeses to satisfy all palates. A Table d' Hote , served either in the gardens under the trees, in the dining room or in the privacy of your room.

Limited to 28 guests each of the various Suites, all of which have their own climate controlled pools, and Cottages have been individually decorated and personalised. All Suites and Cottages have been neatly walled-in and are screened from their neighbours offering exceptional privacy.
The best thing to do at Cybele is to relax. There are superb walks on the 300 acre property which is down through the forest to the river and along to the waterfall. We have our own stables on the property and our groom can take guests out on breathtaking horse rides through the forest, alternatively enjoy the mountain bikes on offer. Many guests use Cybele as a base to explore Mpumalanga or to venture into the Kruger Park for the day. Contact Reception for information on day tours, exciting helicopter adventures and hot air balloon safaris. Cybele has a large heated main pool for year round swimming. Golf, Tennis and Squash are available nearby. Transfers between hotels, game lodges and airports can also be arranged at Reception.

FROM JOHANNESBURG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Turn left onto the R21 and left further on, onto the N12 freeway towards Witbank, where it joins the N4 to Nelspruit. Once you have reached Nelspruit, turn left following the R40 toward White River. Look out for the turning to the left on the R40 towards Hazyview, followed by a right turn at the next lights. Approximately 26km North of White River, look out for the Spitskop sign pointing to your left. Turn here and drive along this gravel road for 4.2km. You will see a sign pointing to Cybele on your left, turn here and drive along this road for another 1.2km. (Approximately 350km from Johannesburg)

FROM PRETORIA STATION
Turn left and follow Bosman Street for 5 blocks before turning right into Schoeman Street, which becomes the N4 to Nelspruit. Once you have reached Nelspruit, turn left following the R40 toward White River. Look out for the turning to the left on the R40 towards Hazyview, followed by a right turn at the next lights. Approximately 26km North of White River, look out for the Spitzkop sign pointing to your left. Turn here and drive along this gravel road for 4.2km. You will see a sign pointing to Cybele on your left, turn here and drive along this road for another 1.2km.

FROM PRETORIA
Take the N4 towards Nelspruit. Once you have reached Nelspruit, turn left following the R40 toward White River. Look out for the turning to the left on the R40 towards Hazyview, followed by a right turn at the next lights. Approximately 26km North of White River, look out for the Spitzkop sign pointing to your left. Turn here and drive along this gravel road for 4.2km. You will see a sign pointing to Cybele on your left, turn here and drive along this road for another 1.2km. (Approximately 320km from Pretoria)

FROM KRUGER MPUMALANGA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Follow the airport signage towards the exit. At the T-junction turn right. Continue straight along this road at the next T-junction turn left. Continue straight along this road until you reach a 3-way stop, turn right here. Continue straight until you reach a T-junction, turn right and go over the railway line. Go straight through the traffic lights and turn right at the T-junction. Continue straight through one set of traffic lights and turn left at the second set of traffic lights (Caltex garage on your right-hand side). Continue straight out of White River on the R40 to Hazyview passing Casterbridge Tourism Centre on your right-hand side. After approximately 28km you will see a sign indicating “Spitzkop” and another sign indicating “Cybele Forest Lodge & Spa”, turn left onto the Spitzkop road. After 500m of tar you will reach a dirt road. Continue on this dirt road for approximately 4,2km. Follow all Cybele signage from hereon. The drive will take you approximately 35 min
