Just over an hour's drive from Cape Town, Welbedacht offers a stunning retreat in the country. The self catering cottages are adjacent to the game conservatory with Springbuck, Bontebok, Zebra, etc and are tucked away within the Reserve amongst the Fynbos and Orchards, offer complete privacy and a tranquil environment. Spectacular views of the Tulbagh Valley and the surrounding mountains combine with the cries of the fish eagles and the sounds of nature. Private plunge pools and braai areas, open fireplaces for winter nights, and large verandas for relaxing on all combine to make this a special and memorable escape.

Each cottage is tucked away amongst pine trees, fynbos and orchards offering complete privacy and seclusion.

Orchard Cottage has two double, en-suite bedrooms. The main bedroom has a large fireplace perfect for cosy winter nights, and both offer spectacular views. Two single beds can be easily set up in the lounge area for extra guests/children. The open plan kitchen/dining area/lounge has a large fireplace and doors opening out onto the veranda. A refreshing plunge pool is a perfect way to cool off on hot summer days. The cottage is fully equipped for self catering, including braai facilities. All linen, towels and firewood are provided, as well as heaters and fans.

The Stone Cottages each sleep 2 adults in a double bed and offer an open plan bedroom, lounge and kitchen area opening out onto a shady veranda with views over the Valley. There is a fireplace in the lounge and a refreshing plunge pool on the deck for your own private use. The cottage is equipped for self catering, including a braai outside. All linen, towels and firewood are provided.

Eagle Cottage is privately tucked away amongst the pine trees and sleeps 2 adults & 2 children. The cottage offers an open plan bedroom, lounge and kitchen area opening out onto a shady veranda with views over the Valley. There is a fireplace in the lounge and a refreshing plunge pool on the deck for your own private use. The cottage is equipped for self catering, including a braai outside. All linen, towels and firewood are provided.

On the farm, enjoy game viewing, fishing in one of our dams, walks, hikes, mountain biking, bird watching, swimming or simply relax within a tranquil and undisturbed environment. There is horse riding and wine tasting on adjacent farms. Tulbagh town is only a 5 minute drive away, and offers a good selection of restaurants and bars, as well as art and craft shops, museums and national monuments.

Welbedacht is the perfect getaway in the country for that weekend of rest and peace away. Braai (barbeque) facilities are available at all cottages and firewood is provided.

Directions
From Cape Town - take the N1 motorway. Take Exit 47 towards Wellington, then turn left onto the R44 just before Wellington. Continue along this road, driving over the scenic Nuwe Kloof Pass. After the pass, turn left onto the Tulbagh turnoff. At the t-junction, turn left towards Tulbagh town. Continue straight through town for approximately 9km's where you will turn left to Welbedacht Farm.
