The Cradle Game Reserve | Cottages / Chalets Lanseria

The exclusive Cradle Forest Camp is tucked away in a secluded and beautiful corner of Gauteng. Eight thatched-stilted chalets on the banks of the Motsetse stream are located in the 3000 hectare Cradle Nature Reserve in the heart of the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site.

This fully-serviced, self catering camp is an ideal base for any exploration of this fascinating fossil-rich area.

The reserve has more than 35 species of mammal including giraffe and rhinoceros. Game drives are available on request. The stream is regularly stocked with trout and presents challenging brook fishing to the experienced fly-fisherman.

The Cradle Restaurant offers an excellent alternative to self-catering and is a short drive through the Reserve . The spectacular view and the a la carte menu make a visit to the restaurant an essential part of any stay at the Cradle.

Pass the Lanseria Airport turnoff on your right and continue past the Crocodile River / Bridge, then turn left onto Kromdraai Road. Our gate is approximately 7km further, on the right hand side.
