Cheviot Place is located in an area called Greenpoint, a small suburb of the greater City Bowl, at the foot of Signal Hill overlooking the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and Robben Island.

It is a 15-20 minute walk to the city centre, a 10 minute walk to the V & A Waterfront, and a 10 minute walk to the Sea Point beachfront and Promenade.

From the airport it takes approximately 15-20 minutes to reach us. We can arrange car hire of any type, size or colour, with pick-up and drop off either at the airport or at our guest house. We can also arrange a shuttle to and from the airport if hiring a car does not suit you. If driving is not an option we can arrange city tours, wine tours, Cape Peninsula tours and any other excursion you might fancy.

Upon your arrival James and Brooke will be welcoming you with a hot or cold refreshment. Once you have checked in you will get a welcome booklet with information on Cape Town and the surrounds, your own keys so that you may come and go as you please as well a complimentary soft drink, beer, coffee or whatever you may feel like, plus some personal advice on what to do or simply just made to feel at home. That is essentially what we are about making you feel at home in ours.

Our rooms are all en-suite and fully serviced with fresh towels and linen. Some rooms have only a shower, some with bath and overhead shower. Each room has a TV, coffee and tea facilities plus hairdryers and fans or heaters on request.

Our Garden Room has it's own private garden where you can catch some sun, have a private breakfast at your own stone picnic table, or do your own thing. The Sunrise Room has a view of the sea, Robben Island and the Waterfront, it has twin beds. There are detailed descriptions of each room on this site.

Our facilities enable you to call friends and family and let them know you’ve arrived safely, all you have to do is dial with a specific code to get an external line and phone away.

Every guest has his or her own set of keys to enter the guest house through a separate entrance. This is to allow you to come and go as you please.

Directions
Directions will be given. However if you are coming from the N2 or the airport then, take the N2 from the airport and head towards town city centre. Take the Strand Street turn off (left) and head on Strand up town and towards Signal Hill, Strand runs up right through town and then heads up toward Sea Point and over the hill. The road will become High Level. You will pass approximately 5 roads on your right hand side, 2 traffic lights and 1 pedestrian light. Take Clyde Road right and then 1st right into Cheviot Place, we are 400m down on the right hand side, number 18.
