Elangeni Cottage | Homes & Villas Onrus

“Elangeni” means “Place in the sun” in Xhosa, and is well suited to this popular corner of the Cape South Coast, South Africa.

The cottage is situated approximately 1 km from the beach and river estuary at Onrus River, next to Hermanus some 100 kilometres (60 miles) from central Cape Town. Nestled in a quiet cul de sac, it is suitable and safe for families with small children.

It has an open plan format downstairs, with a kitchen at one end of the living area, a ten-seater dining room table and at the other end a comfortable lounge. The kitchen opens onto a small private back garden with views of the nearby mountains and a covered veranda area with built in “braai,” which is the local term for what is better known as a barbeque internationally.

There are two bedrooms downstairs with a bathroom and toilet, and laundry facilities. Upstairs is the main bedroom with a small balcony and three further bedrooms

Directions
Take the N2 to Hermanus and the off ramp to Hermanus.
Travel past Fisherhaven, Hawston and Vermont.
Turn right at the Onrus/ Vermont sign – there is a shopping centre on the corner.
Turn first left into Onrus Main Road.
Keep going until you pass the hardware store on your right and the garage on your left. Look out for Sherwood Lane on your left. Turn into Sherwood and first right into De Kock Close.
