Travel from Johannesburg on the Witbank Highway – turn off at Belfast and go towards Dullstroom- Lydenburg – follow the R36 to Ohrigstad, go through the Strydom Tunnel and take the R 527 to Hoedspruit. Turn left onto the R 40 Phalaborwa / Mica road. At approximately 17 kilometres from Hoedspruit, look for the Ezulwini Game Lodges sign on the left and turn right into the Balule Nature Reserve, through a thatched entrance and sign in at the gate. There is a R55.00 Balule Nature Reserve gate conservation fee per vehicle. For guests going to Billy's Lodge: following the Ezulwini markers, continue straight on Oliftants Road for about 3 kilometres until you see the Ezulwini / Sable Road sign at the end of the fence line and turn left. Go straight until you see the Ezulwini sign and take the right split of the road. Follow the Ezulwini sign to Billy’s Lodge. Please follow the road until you reach Billy's Lodge. For guests going to River Lodge: continue straight down Olifants Road, following the Ezulwini markers. Keeping going straight until you see the second (first sign is for Billy’s Lodge) 2nd Ezulwini sign (about 1.5km’s after the Pondoro sign) and turn left. You will travel roughly 6 kms going straight until you see the Ezulwini sign and take the right split of the road. Follow the sign straight to lodge. Please note that it is about an hours drive from the Balule Gate to River Lodge.
