Shackletons Upper Zambezi Lodge is situated on the upper Zambezi River near the village of Mwandi (meaning place of ‘plenty fish’) in southwestern Zambia. The lodge is approximately 150km west of Livingstone (Zambia), 90 km west of Kazungula Ferry (Zambia / Botswana border) and 55km east of Sesheke (Zambia / Namibia border). Shackletons can be easily reached by air and road. Shackletons is easily accessible on the Livingstone / Sesheke road (M10), a newly tarred road that connects Livingstone (Zambia) and Sesheke (Zambia). The turn-off to Shackletons is approximately 150 km west of Livingstone, 90km west of Kazungula Ferry, 6 km west of the turnoff to Mwandi, or 55 km east of Sesheke. There is a 3 ½ km sand road that leads down to Shackletons on the upper Zambezi River. This road is suitable for sedan vehicles all year round.
