Pass the 1st Stellenbosch (Klipheuwel) turnoff. Take the R44 / Klapmuts turnoff from the N1 (Exit 47). Turn Right and drive towards Klapmuts (pass under the bridge). Cross over the first set of lights (the R101) (less than 1 km from off ramp). At the second set of lights, turn left into the road to Franschhoek and the R45 (less than 1km from the R 101 intersection). Follow the signs to Backsberg. Pass Backsberg and drive towards Franschhoek for another 2kms. You will see the gates that mark the entrance to Bloemendal (two pillars with the Malherbe family crest) on your left, where you can turn in. If you come from Paarl take the R45 to Franschoek. Drive 6.1 km and turn right on the Klapmuts road (Vrede en Lust wine farm). Drive 2 km and turn right at the Bloemendal (two pillars with the Malherbe family crest)
