Windhoek-Sesriem: There are a number of routes to follow from Windhoek to the Lodge. The most direct route with (usually) the best road surfaces is given here. Others include taking the B1 South to Rehoboth and then on to Solitaire via the C24 and D1261 - a slightly longer route, the only advantage being the asphalt surface of the B1. Another would be following the C26 Walvis Bay road all the way to the C14 and then turning south to Solitaire - again a longer route. Walvisbay/Swakopmund - Sesriem: Travel 32 kilometres from Swakopmund to Walvis Bay on the B2. Leave Walvis Bay on the C14 minor road - at the traffic circle right at the entrance to the town, keep to the left, past the Flamingo Ponds and the Airport. Travel for 234 kilometres on the C14 to Solitaire. Turn right at the C19 Sossusvlei intersection (T-junction). There is a garage, shop and toilet facilities on the right-hand side of the road here. It is recommended that you fill your vehicle up with petrol at this point. Continue on the C19 from Solitaire (turn out right from the garage road) for a further 71,3 kilometres. At the D826 Sossusvlei Lodge/Sesriem intersection (T-junction), turn right and travel for 12 kilometres. The gate to Sossusvlei Lodge is on the right-hand side of the road Luderitz - Sesriem: Leave Lüderitz on the B4 that goes to Keetmanshoop. Travel for 125 kilometres to the intersection (T-junction) at Aus. Turn left onto the C13 - the gravel surface begins here. Travel for 107 kilometres to Helmeringhausen. It is recommended that you refuel here. Backtrack for 4 kilometres and turn right onto the C27. Travel past Sinclair Guest Farm to the T-junction at Betta Rest Camp and turn left, continuing on the C27. Continue on past Wereldsend (they often have fuel available too at their own filling station) and Mountain Lodge to the D826 Sossusvlei Lodge/Sesriem T-junction. Turn right onto the D826 and travel for ±500 metres. The gate to Sossusvlei Lodge is on the left-hand side of the road.
