Directions to Mackaya Bella Guest House Note: Many Durban street names changed during 2008. In most cases both the old and new are still displayed on the street signs – with the old name crossed out with a red line. The directions below include the both new and old names, with the new in bold and the old in brackets. 1. Directions from Durban International Airport · Exit the Airport on the Northern (Durban city) side, crossing the bridge over the N2 freeway and turn right at the traffic light. Drive down under a flyover, straight through another intersection with a traffic light, then when the road splits, take the M4 Durban option veering right. · Proceed on the M4 motorway for approximately 12 km. Just before the motorway ends on entering the city, take Exit 2 Berea Road / North Coast / N3 Pmb. This exit leads straight into Ché Guevara (Moore) Road, initially wide and one-way, but which soon narrows, becomes two-way and begins to head slightly uphill. · At the sixth traffic light turn left into Cleaver Road. Proceed along this road (heading South) which soon changes its name to Bulwer Road. At the third traffic light (the intersection with Alan Paton (MacDonald) Road) is Glenwood High School and the road name now becomes ZK Matthews (Nicolson) Road. · Continue along ZK Matthews through the suburb of Glenwood for another approximately 1 km (with one more traffic light), then turn right into Penzance Road (uphill). · Mackaya Bella Guest House is about 200m up the road on the left hand side, opposite Durban Girls High School. 2. Directions from the N3 from Pietermaritzburg · Follow the N3 to Durban through ‘spaghetti junction’, the four-level interchange with the N2. · The third exit after this is Exit 3 / Berea Road / M13 Tollgate, coming up a hill crested by the characteristic ‘Tollgate Bridge’ over the motorway. Take this exit and proceed through the traffic light intersection with Ridge Road (next to the bridge) down Berea Road North. · Here is a one-way road system. Cross the intersection with Stephen Dlamini (Essenwood) Road (traffic lights), then turn right at the next intersection, Musgrave Road (traffic lights). Cross the bridge over the freeway and immediately turn right again at the traffic lights, up King Dinuzulu (Berea) Road South. · At the next intersection (traffic lights) turn left into Lena Ahrens (Manning) Road. Pass straight through four intersections with traffic lights (the last being Alan Paton Road), then follow Lena Ahrens for another approximately 1 km as it winds through the suburb of Glenwood. · On the left hand side, on the corner of Penzance Road, is Durban Girls High School. Turn left into Penzance Road. · Mackaya Bella Guest House is the third house on the right hand side opposite the school (turn around the central island). GPS Coordinates: 29° 52’ 25” S ; 30° 59’ 05” E
