FROM JHB/PTA Travel on the N3 highway towards Durban. At Villiers after crossing the Vaal River, take the slipway left off the highway and turn right on to the R26 towards Frankfort. At Frankfort turn right on to the R34 and follow past Frankfort town over the Wilge River and turn left again to the R26. Follow this road past Tweeling and go over the 4-way-stop at Reitz and continue towards Bethlehem. As you come in to Bethlehem continue straight through 5 traffic lights on the N5. 10km on the other side of Bethlehem turn right to Clarens on the R712, travel this road for 32km and then see below for detailed directions to the cottage in town. From Bethlehem N5 Side: As you turn right into Clarens from the R712 Bethlehem, turn immediately right again into Naauwpoort Street, with Lake Clarens on your left side. Continue straight on the gravel road and take your third road left, into Villiers Street and drive up all the way until you see the sign for the French Cottage and the gate. Once inside, follow the marked driveway to the Cottage. FROM DBN and NATAL Travel on the N3 highway towards Johannesburg. Before you enter Harrismith take the slipway left off the highway and continue through 1 traffic light and a 4-way-stop on the N5 towards Bethlehem. Passing the outskirts of Harrismith on the N5 turn left then on to the R74 and continue straight to the R712 towards Phutaditjaba and Clarens. Follow this road for about 80km through Golden Gate National Park and you will arrive at Clarens then please see below for detailed directions to the cottage in town. From Golden Gate N3/Fouriesburg N1 Side: As you turn left into Clarens from the R712 Golden Gate/Fouriesburg, turn immediately right into Naauwpoort Street, with Lake Clarens on your left side. Continue straight on the gravel road and take your third road left, into Villiers Street and drive up all the way until you see the sign for the French Cottage and the gate. Once inside, follow the marked driveway to the Cottage. FROM BLOEMFONTEIN/N1 HIGHWAY From Bloemfontein travel on the N8 highway towards Thaba Nchu and Ladybrand. At Ladybrand you keep left, travel on to the R26 towards Clocolan, pass by Clocolan and Ficksburg travelling towards Fouriesburg. When you reach Fouriesburg, you turn right on to the R711 towards Clarens. Continue on this road for a further 47km and get to a T-Junction and turn left onto the R712 and then left again in to Clarens. See then below for detailed directions to the Cottage in town. As you turn left into Clarens from the R712 Golden Gate/Fouriesburg, turn immediately right into Naauwpoort Street, with Lake Clarens on your left side. Continue straight on the gravel road and take your third road left, into Villiers Street and drive up all the way until you see the sign for the French Cottage and the gate. Once inside, follow the marked driveway to the Cottage.
