Directions from Cape Town: Take the N2 from Cape Town, stay on the highway past Cape Town International Airport, towards Somerset West - continue on the N2 through the industrial area of Somerset West and turn right at the traffic lights into Sir Lowry's Pass Road towards Gordon's Bay. Continue until you get to a T-junction with Faure Marine Drive at the East Coast Fisheries 'Jaws' fish 'n chips shop. Turn left at the T-junction onto Faure Marine Drive R44, following signs towards Rooi Els/Pringle Bay. The R44 becomes Clarence Drive and the speed limit is 70km/h once out of Gordon's Bay area. Continue on this road for some 30 km, driving through Rooi Els - speed limits drops to 60 km/h through Rooi Els - beware of the speed camera on the Rooi Els hill! Approaching Pringle Bay, take the main turn-off right (sign-posted Pringle Bay) into Hangklip Road. Gulley Road is a dirt/unpaved road that turns off to the right of Hangklip Road after 1.5 km's - it is the next turn off to the right after Paul Road . The Mermaid's Tail is no.3 (erf 354) Gulley Road, the first house on the left. If you reach the small traffic circle in the village where the shops are, you have gone too far along Hangklip Road and you'll need to do a U-turn and Gulley Road will then be the first be the first road on your left.
