I often go to Bloemfontein for business and this small city is definitely growing on me. It is big enough to address your every need, but compact enough to feel more like a town, with friendly people and an absence of constant traffic jams.

Bloemfontein feels like it's inbetween a town and a city... big enough to have all the amenities, but small enough that locals will help you out when you get lost. I couldn't find my destination (due to construction) and a local helped me out with directions not once but twice!
