Accommodation near Orkney Golf Club - 2
Orkney Golf Club is an 18-hole riverside, parklands course that boasts lush greenery and well-irrigated grounds. The club’s origins are modest, with the now legendary architect, Bob Grimsdell designing what was to be a nine-hole course for a mere 100 pounds. The club was opened to the public in 1939 by the then chairman of the Anglo American Corporation, Ernest Oppenheim. Due to its fast-growing popularity, nine extra holes were added to the course in the mid-'40s. The club is now a venue of choice for amateur players as well as home-grown and noteworthy professionals. Over the years, iconic legends such as Simon Hobday, Jannie Le Grange and Peter Charles “Whitey” White have played on the grounds of Orkney Golf Club.
Situated on the banks of the Vaal River in the quaint town of Orkney, it’s no wonder that golfers enjoy teeing off here. With a tranquil setting and views that overlook the river, players can forget about their life stresses and enjoy a challenging game of golf in the beautiful surrounds.
The course is a test for those who are new to the sport as well as the experts. It presents players with the opportunity to develop their skills with the courses’ various obstacles. These obstacles include 31 bunkers and five water features.
The Orkney Golf Club are strong competitors in the North West Golf league – with both the men’s and women’s team faring well in a variety of golfing tournaments happening throughout the year.

Excited and Thankful. I really appreciate this awesome surprise. I would like to say that Willow Tree Guest House is the place to stay - they are friendly, welcoming and truly accommodating. I enjoyed the time I stayed there - if I have to do business in Klerksdorp again I will be staying there again.

Klerksdorp Reviews
Klerksdorp
The CBD in Klerksdorp is according to me not considered to be safe. There is a nice Matlosani mall with enough parking space and Restaurants and other shops to do your shopping at.
