conveniently located in Overport, a central suburb on Durban’s Berea. Its convenient location combined with the world

The hospital was established over 65 years ago and was known as the Parklands Nursing Home. During this
time it built up an irrefutable reputation for its high level of patient care
and exceptional facilities. In 1998, the
hospital joined the Netcare Limited stable and continued to do its
world-class medical work under the simple name, Parklands Hospital. If
anything, the facility’s reputation has been enhanced by the Netcare brand,
which is well-known as one of the largest
private healthcare providers in South Africa and the United Kingdom.
The Parklands Hospital has a total of 192 beds, including the 24
private rooms. It is a multi-disciplinary
hospital with numerous specialised wards as well as a number of ancillary services. It goes without
saying that the Netcare Parklands Hospital staff
are all highly-skilled, caring individuals who go out of the way to ensure
patients are treated with dignity and respect.
Among the disciplines practised at the hospital are urology, gynaecology,
oncology, pulmonology, ENT surgery, general medicine, plastic and
reconstructive surgery and gastroenterology. There are some specialised clinics which include the
pre-admission clinic, the diabetic clinic and the mother and baby wellness
clinic.
Ancillary services provided by the hospital
for patients and visitors alike include a Nescafé coffee shop, physiotherapy, a dietician and a pharmacy.
