Accommodation near Pecanwood Golf & Country Club - 6

The Pecanwood Golf & Country Club started out life as a farm on the banks of the Hartebeespoort Dam. Its name is inspired by the grove of Pecan Nut trees found on the original farm. Today the estate’s golf course is among the top courses in South Africa and draws many local and international golfers to its greens.

The course was designed by the retired American golfer, Jack Niklaus, who is thought to be one of the best golfers in of all time. The course is of top quality and is designed to test golfers’ intelligence rather than their strength.

Pecanwood is a very attractive course, not only because it is well-designed, but also because of its position. Close to the Hartebeespoort Dam in South Africa’s North West province, it is flanked by the Magaliesberg Mountain Range, providing a breath-taking backdrop as you work your way around the course.

It is also popular because of the facilities it offers, which include practise facilities, a bar, restaurant, pro shop and golf academy. The bar and restaurant, located in the club house, are both fully licensed and open to visitors, although reservations are required for the restaurant.

The practice facilities include a driving range of 5 greens which allow you to hone your accuracy and distance while the 3 practise greens ensure that you practise a range of shots. The pro shop stocks all kinds of clothes and equipment as well as offering club-fitting and re-gripping.

Visitors are welcome at Pecanwood Golf Club as long as the dress-code is adhered to. Bookings are opened 6 days ahead of time and the green is closed on Mondays.

If you are staying in Hartebeespoort accommodation and feel an itch to get out onto the golf course, head over to Pecanwood Golf & Country Club.

Great place, it was our wedding anniversary, so we went rock climbing (Own gear) at the Nuclear Crag on Africaland property, next to Necsa and enjoyed some white water rafting in the afternoon on the Crocodile River with Paddle Power. They also own a cute little restaurant with delicious food where you get off out of the raft, the Rusty Feather. Loads of little shops and found a Wonderful Portuguese restaurant right on the water at the boat club, next to the zoo, which I'll highly recommend. CHEAP Honey, in the town, driving away from the tunnel, after the Portuguese restaurant. It's solidly worth the stop, it's run by a pharmacist and her hubby.

Hartbeespoort
Hartbeespoort is a lovely place to visit to get away from home. There's lot to do and see. Also, they have a lot of restaurants and shops to visit. The best thing is that its not far to travel and you in the bush and away from the concrete jungle.

Yeyyy!! Haarties neh!! WOW!! Naturally beautiful and relaxing place. I stand by the coining that Haarties is indeed Gautengs' millionaire playground, however it still caters for everyone including us mere mortals lol:)
