Boskruin Accommodatie
The suburb of Boskruin is situated in northern Johannesburg, on the far western side of Randurg. It is a very pretty neighbourhood boasting impressive houses and plenty of trees. It has good transport links to other parts of the northern suburbs and is popular for being close to them.
Boskruin experiences the typical Highveld climate of hot summers with afternoon downpours, and chilly, dry winters. The sun shines throughout the year though and casts a very positive light on the neighbourhood. The grassy verges and plenty of trees and flowers not only benefit from the sunlight, but also look a lot more cheery and welcoming when the sun is shining.
The suburb, which is surrounded by neighbourhoods like Honeydew and Bromhof, lies close to a koppie (small hill), which is visible from most parts of western Johannesburg. The Koppie is a protected area known as the Boschkop Municipal Nature Reserve, and is just one of multiple open areas where city-dwellers can get their fill of nature. The areas around Boskruin are renowned for greenbelts and parks which provide a calming effect which is absent in the city centre.
Boskruin is not the most accessible suburb in Johannesburg, but transport links such as Beyers Naude, Witkoppen Road and the N1 will take you fairly easily to the northern reaches of Johannesburg, significantly the business hub of Sandton. Places like Fourways and Kyalami are also relatively easy to get to from Boskruin.
Nearby attractions include the Emmarentia Dam and the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, both of which make lovely weekend picnic spots.
