The Buffeslpoort Valley is an extraordinarily scenic area in the Magaliesberg Mountain Range. The area lies between Pretoria in Gauteng and Rustenberg in the North West province. Activities in the Buffeslpoort Valley are highly varied but are most rewarding for those with an appreciation for the outdoors. Hiking and mountain-biking on the Magaliesberg slopes is endlessly rewarding and for the adrenaline junkies there are canopy tours, abseiling and trad rock- climbing.
The Buffelspoort Valley is home to a number of dams such as the Buffeslpoort Dam and Olifantsnek, both of which are hubs of recreational development with many self-catering cottages guest-houses and BnB’s popping up to cater for fishing and water sport fanatics.
