Claremont is located in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, nestled between the suburbs of Rondebosch to the North and Kenilworth to the South. The suburb, along with several other neighbouring municipalities, were incorporated into the City of Cape Town in 1913. Claremont is ideally located for the business traveller, as it is a mere stone’s throw away from the city bowl and has many hotels and flats to choose from.
Parts of the suburb are cosmopolitan with modern upscale malls right on the doorsteps of many residents. Harfield is worth a quick visit, with its age-old cottages and tree-lined streets, you’ll feel as if you’re visiting English suburbia. Visitors will have the opportunity to see many of Claremont’s places of worship – from the Al-Jamiah Mosque to the Christian Science Church; Claremont is all-inclusive and caters to its multi-cultural populace.
For the sports enthusiasts, rugby and cricket stadiums are located a few minutes’ drive away in Newlands.
